How to Transfer Contacts to Motorola Phone



Do you want to move all of your contacts to Motorola Moto E 4G from your old phone, you may follow our simple guide  which is explained in some simple steps based on your old phone below:

  1. Importing from an Android phone

Simply follow the steps below:

  1. Open your apps list and find the Motorola Migrate app. Tap on it to begin.
  2. You will be asked if this is your new handset, or the one you’re transferring data from. Press new.
  3. The app will show you a list of which information it can transfer over from your old phone. Press next when you’re ready to continue.
  4. Motorola Migrate will now ask you to download the Migrate app on to your previous Android smartphone. Grab your old phone and move on to the next step.

Now, the steps you need to do in your old phone:

  1. On your previous Android handset, open the Play Store and tap the magnifying glass.
  2. Type Motorola Migrate in to the search box and press the magnifying glass again to perform a search.
  3. Tap on the Motorola Migrate app to view its store page, complete with user reviews and screenshots. Press the install button to begin downloading the app.
  4. Once the app has finished downloading, open it and press the start button. A barcode scanner will appear on the screen, so now it’s time to switch back to your Motorola.

Now, after you are in the new Motorola, follow the steps below:

  1. Your Motorola should still be on the screen asking you to prepare your previous phone. Press next to move on to the connection stage.
  2. A QR code will appear on the screen. Point your previous Android phone’s camera at the black and white square until both phones connect to each other and start transferring data.
  3. The phones can be left unattended at this stage, as the transfer can take quite a long time to complete depending on how many videos or songs you’re moving. The phones are connected to each other through a Wi-Fi connection so make sure that the battery doesn’t run out!
  4. When the transfer of data is finished, your new Motorola will show you a list of the different information types it successfully transferred. Press exit to finish the transfer process.
  1. Import contacts from an iPhone

Before transferring contacts from your iPhone to Motorola, you need to know that iPhone handset has the ability to sync its contacts into iCloud, Apple’s online service, and this is why getting your contacts onto your new handset becomes very easy. But if this is not enabled, you can follow the steps below:

    1. On your iPhone, tap on the Settings icon.
    2. Scroll down and tap on iCloud.
    3. If you are not already signed in with your Apple ID, please do so.
    4. Tap the Contacts switch to turn this on.
    5. Tap Merge to move your contacts into iCloud (the sync process may take a few minutes, depending on the number of contacts).
    6. From your computer’s web browser, visit the iCloud website and sign in using your Apple ID and password.
    7. Click on the Contacts square to see a list of all your contacts currently residing in your iCloud address book.
    8. Click the Settings icon in the bottom-left corner of the Contacts page (which looks like a cog or gear) and click Select All.
    9. Click the Settings icon again and click Export vCard.
    10. On your computer, open the Google homepage.
    11. Log in with the same Google email address and password that you use on your handset.
    12. Click Gmail on the black menu bar at the top of the webpage.
    13. m. Underneath the Google logo in the top left-hand corner, click on Gmail and select Contacts from the drop-down list.
    14. Move the mouse to the right and click on More, then click Import from the drop-down list.
    15. On the window that opens, click Choose File and locate the .vcf file you downloaded (probably in your Downloads folder).
    16. Click Import.
  1. Import contacts from Blackberry

If you want to move contacts from Blackberry, you’ll need to move them to your computer, and you won’t be able to do the action without Blackberry Desktop Software. It means you have to download and install this software to your computer first. When you have this software installed, you can follow the instruction below to continue:

  1. Connect your BlackBerry to your computer using a microUSB cable and wait for BlackBerry Desktop Software to recognise the phone.
  2. Click on Organizer in the left-hand panel of the software and tick the Contacts box.
  3. When asked to choose the sync direction, choose one way to your computer only.
  4. Under Contacts account, make sure Windows contacts is selected. Press OK to continue.
  5. Press Sync Organizer in the bottom right-hand corner of the software to move your BlackBerry contacts to your Windows address book.
  6. Now that your contacts are stored inside Windows contacts we need to export them into a CSV file.
  7. Open your contacts folder, which you will find within your User account folder.
  8. Highlight all the contacts by holding down the Ctrl button on your keyboard and tapping A.
  9. On the menu bar above the contacts, click Export.
  10. Highlight CSV (Comma Separated Values) and click Export
  11. Click Browse and choose where to save the file. I would recommend your Desktop or Downloads folder. Enter a name for the file, such as Contacts, and click Save.
  12. On your computer, open the Google homepage.
  13. Log in with the same Google email address and password that you use on your handset.
  14. Click Gmail on the black menu bar at the top of the webpage.
  15. Underneath the Google logo in the top left-hand corner, click on Gmail and select Contacts from the drop-down list.
  16. Move the mouse to the right and click on More, then click Import from the drop-down list.
  17. On the window that opens, click Choose File and locate the .csv file you downloaded.
  18. Click Import.
  1. Import contacts from Windows Phone

Importing contacts from a Windows Phone handset, the first thing to do is exporting them from your Microsoft account so you can import them into your Google account. The process is so simple and straightforward as steps below:

    1. If you’re migrating from a Windows Phone and your phone is connected to the internet, you should have a Windows Live (or Hotmail) account already set up on the phone. Under these circumstances your contacts will be saved to the Windows Live website by default. Click the link and Sign in with your Windows Live email address and password when prompted.
    2. Once you’re able to see your contacts list, click Manage at the top of the page and choose Export from the dropdown list. Your contacts will start downloading as a .csv file to your computer.
    3. On your computer, open the Google homepage.
    4. Log in with the same Google email address and password that you use on your handset.
    5. Click Gmail on the black menu bar at the top of the webpage.
    6. Underneath the Google logo in the top left-hand corner, click on Gmail and select Contacts from the drop-down list.
    7. Move the mouse to the right and click on More, then click Import from the drop-down list.
    8. On the window that opens, click Choose File and locate the .csv file you downloaded.
    9. Click Import.
